Our dairy barn has recently been restructured and enlarged (2009-2010), following the most up-to-date criteria based on the well-being of the animals which, first of all, means dequate space for each animal.
Continual attention to genetics, backed by new technology through the “Afimilk” EDP system regarding animal management, has provided strong support for improvement in the quality of our milk.
…With an eye to ecology:
Recently we have set up a Biogas plant for the production of 2 Megawatt per hour of electric energy, corresponding to 16 mio Kilowatt per year, the average demand of about 4.500 families.
Liquid cow sewage, through a process of anaerobic digestion, is transformed into methane gas which in turn is converted into electric energy.
